Guest Blog post: Is Boxing for everyone?

Back in 2012 when I first set up Wildcat Fitness UK it was just me and a handful of clients…. fast forward almost four years and I am both blessed and very grateful to be able to say that I’ve trained and continue to train dozens of amazing people week in week out, and that by my side in this PT journey are two fantastic female trainers who also take on Wildcat clients – Rahel and Rosie. I love working with these incredible girls, so when Rosie suggested writing something for my Blog about her biggest fitness passion, I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys. So in her own words – let me hand you over to Rosie and her love for all things Boxing.

Firstly, hello and welcome to the Wildcat Blog…..

I’ve had the pleasure of working with LJ over some time now and its a delight to write an article for her many followers. A short introduction to myself: my name is Rosie McGowan. I’m a personal trainer specialising in boxing. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned pro my services cater for all (cheeky Plug!)

 

If you look up the word ‘Boxing’ on wikipedia, it tells us the following:

“Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people wearing protective gloves throw punches at each other for a predetermined set of time in a boxing ring”

This is of course no lie, but boxing is so much more than this. However first impressions may lead Joe Bloggs to wrongly pre-judge the sport for being nothing more than violence.
