Same destination, different journey

May 31, 2016 by wildcatfitness

When you start a weight loss transformation journey – it won’t be easy, but it is possible. It won’t be quick, but it is worth it. It may not be straightforward, but you have to keep going. There’s 7 years difference in these photos, in the photo on the left I was almost three stone heavier and so uncomfortable and unhappy in myself and actually not long after this photo was taken I decided enough was enough and I had to take responsibility for getting healthier. This picture was taken at the end of a girls weekend away – I’d been drinking, eating chips on the way home and then having fry ups the next morning. My size 12 jeans were far too tight but I squeezed myself in regardless. I would diet then binge, drank every weekend and exercised erratically. But I finally realised it had to stop and that I wouldn’t be happy in my own skin until I had a body I could be proud of, not want to hide away.

The long journey after that took many twists and turns….

One last Transformation Tale

December 17, 2015 by wildcatfitness

One last #throwbackthursday for 2015…. On the left me in 2009… And on the right last week as shot by Tom Miles on our photoshoot last week.

Weight Loss Transformation photo

Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Without a shadow of a doubt. Did it happen overnight? Hell no! Yes you can loose weight quickly – and sometimes I did, but it doesn’t stay off, nor is this lifestyle sustainable. I’ve learnt so many lessons along the path of my fitness journey – some took longer than others and some were harder than others. [Read more…] about One last Transformation Tale

Recipe: Quinoa Burgers with Cajun spiced “fries”

August 3, 2015 by wildcatfitness

Burger and chips – surely one of the ultimate cheat meals? Well definitely pretty sinful with the oil, mayo, cheese, sauces….. so how can we give this classic indulgence a healthy makeover? Well I tried – and these are the results – so let me know what you think!

A change will do you good

July 26, 2015 by wildcatfitness

Over the past few weeks I’ve been really enjoying trying out different workouts and mixing up my routine – in the past 6 weeks I’ve tried a Battle Rope circuit at Equinox London, tried both Ride and Reshape sessions at 1Rebel, SUPYoga and HIIT on a paddleboard in the Serpentine with Aquaphysical by The Privee Project and this morning the Active in Style park HIIT and group run (which I’ve never done before!) – here I am post 3k run in the rain with just two of the lovely ladies I’ve had the pleasure of meeting since mixing up my fitness regime. Active in Style Hyde Park HIIT workout

Recipe: Mexican Veggie Bowl

June 2, 2015 by wildcatfitness

I love the flavours of Mexico….. Nachos, tacos, cheese toppings….. it may all be delicious, but it can often be packed with calories and fat. So I wanted to make a dish with all the flavour, but with plenty of goodness instead of naughtiness! I’ve made this a veggie version as I am a vegetarian, but you could easily add chicken to this dish if you wanted extra protein.

Because every fitness journey starts somewhere….

March 25, 2015 by wildcatfitness

TBT mar15

So, hopefully a little inspiration for you all – and to put the story of my fitness and weight loss journey into perspective for those of you who don’t know me. Above are three photos of me from approx 2008-2010 and then the bottom right taken two weeks ago – nearly three stone lighter, 4 dress sizes smaller and most importantly HAPPY with myself…. I literally cringe when I see these pictures of my double chin, muffin top, flabby arms….. and am so sad that I let myself get like this.
